In the presence of ph4pbr or o-difluorobenzene, the fluoride ion not only replaces chlorine, but also replaces the nitro group in the activated nitrobenzene in dmso. According to the reaction conditions, polychlorobenzene reacts with potassium fluoride to form monofluorobenzene, difluorobenzene and trifluorobenzene. Perfluorobenzene and perfluoropyridine can be obtained by a chlorine-fluorine exchange reaction. The best results were obtained by heating the mixture of the pc-aromatic substrate and potassium fluoride at a high temperature without solvent. The substitution of halides by fluoride ions also occurs on alkyl halides, especially in the presence of Caf 2,8, but the use of polychlorinated chains becomes more difficult.
Potassium fluoride is widely used as a fluorinating reagent for preparing various organic fluorides. In polar aprotic solvents (such as DMF, DMSO or tetramethylene sulfoxide), aromatic or vinyl groups with electron withdrawing groups can be easily prepared by the exchange reaction of potassium fluoride with aromatic or vinyl chloride.
